Mapping Place And Play In Staten Island

September 21, 2013 The Staten Island Museum invited us to hold a hands-on-mapping activity at The Snug Harbor Cultural Center.

The GreenspaceNYC team got the opportunity to chat & map with long-time SI residents and learn about where they live, work, play, and other important place-based issues around the island – Such as the development of Fresh Kills landfill-turned park, Staten Island’s nascent ferris wheel, neighborhoods damaged/recovering from Hurricane Sandy and other pressing issues like the possible contamination of the local play-space: Great Kills Park.
